In late 2018, we were approached by the Toluca Lake Beautification Partners in regard to restoring an area of the 134 freeway which had been destroyed due to the fires. We proposed a landscape and irrigation plan that came in under the limited budget – a generous grant had been provided by NBC Universal to allow for the work to be done.
We worked closely with TLBP and Caltrans in regard to lane shutdowns and being able to perform the work in a safe manner. We overhauled all the broken/damaged irrigation and installed over 20,000 pieces of ice-plant, as well as some shrubs. It was deemed such a success our team was invited to participate in the ribbon cutting ceremony in November 2019.
